Strengthen inclusion and save training time with Flourish’s Inclusion Certificate
Schools are being asked to strengthen inclusive provision so that more children can have their needs met in mainstream education. This ambition sits at the heart of the government’s SEND reforms, with staff knowledge and confidence central to putting it into practice.
For school and trust leaders, the practical challenge is making time for professional development and helping staff apply their learning consistently.
Flourish’s Inclusion Certificate supports this work through online learning designed for different staff roles, helping schools turn expectations into confident everyday practice.

Expert-developed training that saves preparation time
Supporting staff development takes time, from preparing content to organising and delivering sessions.
Developed with SEND expert Charlotte Fernandes, Flourish’s Inclusion Certificate offers structured, role-specific online learning that reduces the need for leaders to prepare and deliver training themselves, freeing up time to support staff in applying their learning.
Relevant learning for the whole school team
SENCOs and inclusion leaders play a vital role in coordinating provision, while teachers, support staff and the wider school team all contribute to pupils’ everyday experiences. Learning needs to reflect these different responsibilities while supporting a shared approach.
The Inclusion Certificate supports staff to identify needs earlier, adapt teaching and remove barriers to learning. It helps schools embed inclusive provision across the whole school community and create environments where every child can feel a sense of belonging. The Inclusion Certificate is available at three levels — Foundation, Practice and Enhanced — helping staff access learning that reflects their role and responsibilities within the school.
This structured, whole-school approach supports schools to move beyond isolated interventions and embed inclusion into everyday school culture, systems and decision-making.
Connecting staff development with school priorities
The Inclusion Certificate supports the focus on staff development within SEND reform by building knowledge and confidence in inclusive practice. This focus also aligns with Ofsted priorities, helping leaders demonstrate how staff development supports their school’s approach to inclusion.
For leaders, connecting professional development with the school’s inclusion strategy helps give staff learning a clear purpose and direction. The Inclusion Certificate includes a specific course on inclusion strategy, supporting this focus.
