According to our new survey, the teacher shortage in the UK has reached a critical point, severely affecting the quality of education provision. A staggering 93% of education professionals believe this shortage impacts education quality and is contributing to a decline in overall standards.

With fewer qualified teachers available, we must consider if the education system is heading towards breaking point.

A shortage of qualified teachers has many potential implications, including larger class sizes, reduced academic outcomes, fewer extracurricular activities for pupils, adverse effects on student mental health, and increased reliance on non-qualified teaching staff.

Equally worrying is the impact of the shortage on existing teachers. Spiralling workloads and soaring stress levels increase the likelihood of more people leaving the profession.
